22 Dec YIPPEE TRAINING FOR TRAINERS – C1
We were in Ankara, Türkiye, for the Yippee Project’s C1 activity between the 5th and 9th of December. YIPPEE’s Activity, C1, was a one-week transnational training for 3 participants from each partner country, total 18 participants. This training was led by IFALL, IO1, and the leader of IO2. Participants of C1 were trainers / youth workers / teachers / social workers / staff of the partner organizations. The overall aim of this training was to develop methods and communication tools for how teachers and youth workers can improve cooperation between young native Europeans and immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers of the same age through creative cultural activities. During the training, the partners shared experiences and knowledge, discussed teaching and training methods, and learned from each other through discussions and practical, creative workshops. GEHIM-DER was responsible for organizing the contents, arranging the training venue, and preparing their staff to host the training. Social & intercultural competences and critical thinking were essential pillars for productive discussions. There were also some sessions with storytelling as an excellent tool to let youth express themselves and develop their critical thinking, improving trainees’ creative skills. After testing the outcomes from IO1 in a practical way during the training and further developing and improving training and teaching methods in Turkey’s training, participants in C1 will be able to start IO2’s YIPPEE Youth Inclusion Scheme in the six participating countries (Ireland, Sweden, Türkiye, Italy, Portugal, and Austria).
